Outreach Programs
Our vision is to foster a dynamic and effective outreach program that encourages active congregational participation in individual or collective baptismal ministries to those members of the community (including congregational members) who are in "trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity". To this calling we pledge our time, talent, and treasure.
Some of the outreach programs in which the church is currently involved include: support of the annual United Way Day of Caring, Hospice, Highland Educational Project, Big Brothers / Big Sisters, Norborne Preschool, Loaves and Fishes Project, CCAP, Habitat for Humanity, and the Berkeley Senior Center.
There are about sixteen "Hospital Callers" who visit the infirmed at City Hospital, Heartland, Care Haven, Outlook Pointe and private homes. An annual Christmas Blood Drive is coordinated by the Outreach committee of the Vestry. The members of the St. Mary's Guild organize a Chili Supper, a Pancake Supper, Lenten Dinners, a Holiday Bazaar and a Courtyard sale every year. Proceeds from these events are donated to charities and church programs. These are just a few.....
